Bet-RI is free to read. This page explains how it is paid for and what that means for the pages you read.
Who we are
Bet-RI is a Rhode Island betting guide published by Parapetra Interactive Limited, World Trade Center, 6 Bayside Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. Contact: [email protected].
How we earn money
Some links from our pages to sportsbooks, online casinos, racebooks and fantasy sites are affiliate links. If you follow one and open an account, the operator may pay us a commission. Depending on the agreement it can be a one-off fee, a share of the operator’s revenue from that account, or both. You do not pay anything extra, and the offer you get is the same as on the operator’s own site.
We do not sell sponsored articles, and operators cannot buy a place in our lists.
How to recognise affiliate links
Buttons such as “Visit site” and links that pass through an address beginning with bet-ri.com/go/ are commercial links, marked “sponsored” in the page code. When you click one, our server records the click and sends you on to the operator. Links to the Rhode Island Lottery, help services, teams and news sources are ordinary links and earn nothing.
Cookies involved
Each page load sets two technical cookies: mz_vid, a random visitor number kept for one year, and mz_src, a note of where the visit came from kept for 30 days. A click on a “Visit site” link also sets mozbiz_session and XSRF-TOKEN, which last less than a day. The operator may set its own cookies once you reach its site. Our cookie policy has the details.
What payment does not change
A commission does not buy a rating, a good review or the removal of criticism. Wagering requirements, withdrawal times and weak points are described whether an operator pays us or not. Many pages earn nothing at all: guides to the state sportsbook, lottery games, horse racing, fantasy rules, team betting pages and our responsible gambling notes.
We also keep apart what Rhode Island allows and what only offshore sites offer. An offshore operator with an affiliate agreement is still described as not licensed or regulated by Rhode Island.
How we compare operators
When a page compares several sites, they are judged on the same points whether or not we have an agreement with them: where the operator may legally take bets from Rhode Island, the full bonus terms, payment methods and withdrawal times, the markets and games on offer, and how the operator deals with complaints. If we stop trusting an operator, we stop recommending it, even when that costs us commission.
State products
The state sportsbook and lottery games are run by or with the Rhode Island Lottery. Where we write about them, it is for information; their appearance on Bet-RI does not mean that the state or its partners have endorsed the site.
Play safely
All offers on the site are for adults aged 21 and over who are allowed to bet where they are. If you feel pressure to chase a bonus or win back losses, take a break. Help is available from the National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), which takes calls, texts and chats 24/7, or from Problem Gambling Services of Rhode Island on 1-877-9GAMBLE.
